Representing the City of

Bellevue

Sustainability Ambassador since

Winter 2022

William is a Senior at Bellevue High School who hopes to promote the spirit of sustainability in schools locally, nationally, and all around the world. During elementary school in Hong Kong and later in South Korea, his weekly ritual of wearing a mask due to high air pollution levels gave him a personal connection to the importance of sustainability. Since then, he has been involved in a number of sustainability related projects, including MUN conferences that highlight protecting the planet. Most recently, he served as the Director of the United Nations Security Council at WAIMUN, leading 30+ delegates debate about "Preventing the exploitation of the environment in wars and armed conflicts in the Middle East". As a first step to combat climate change, he has convinced his family to take shorter showers, bike more, conserve electricity and heating, and adapt their diets. Go Green!
