2050 Workout @ UW

"In the year 2050, today’s teenagers will have children of their own in high school. What will our communities look like if we are completely sustainable by then?"

It only happens once a year. In August. One hundred student leaders from all over Puget Sound convene for a 12-hour sustainable systems “thought experiment.” We forecast what it would be like to achieve 100% sustainability in our own communities by the year 2050. We backcast to identify actions we can take today…. 2040, 2030, 2020. We bring a positive future into focus and move towards it.

WHEN: Friday, August 23 from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM (It’s a workout!)

WHERE:  Gould Hall, UW Campus 3950 University Way, Seattle, WA 98105

IS THIS YOU? Bold, brave, passionate. Concerned and excited about building a more sustainable future (sooner rather than later). Good at systems thinking. Plenty of creativity and stamina. In middle or high school. Like to learn. Try new things.

Registration is FREE but limited to first 100  Jump on it!

Community Sustainability Summits

The Community Sustainability Summit convenes leaders from across generations, jurisdictions, school districts, and community sectors to measurably improve sustainable community conditions while strengthening local connections for collective impact.

At the summit, key community leaders report on sustainability policies, programs and projects. Based on what has been accomplished so far and where the gaps are, participants co-create collective impact projects for the coming year.

The Community Sustainability Summit is facilitated by students from Sustainability Ambassadors, along with a growing coalition of community partners as an annual tradition.
