NONPROFIT FISCAL SPONSORSHIP

 

Sustainability Ambassadors is an independent organization under fiscal sponsorship of Sustainable Seattle, a non-profit organization. This is a legal agreement between a self-sustaining program and a registered 501c3 organization. The agreement is based on mission alignment and shared interests in community building and performance measures. Part of Sustainable Seattle’s mission is to sponsor a range of self-sustaining, strategically aligned programs to amplify and accelerate action, without building extra layers of cumbersome bureaucracy. Sustainability Ambassadors pays Sustainable Seattle a 10% fee on all grants and contracts and donations. In exchange Sustainable Seattle provides Sustainability Ambassadors umbrella non-profit legal status, financial management, and insurance.

This relationship enables Sustainability Ambassadors to focus 90% of our energies on program design and delivery rather than trying to also manage our own separate nonprofit organization.
