Amelia Spence

Amelia is a senior at the University of Washington, where she is pursuing a degree in Community, Environment, and Planning (CEP) with a minor in Law, Societies, and Justice. She is passionate about incorporating sustainability into urban and environmental planning, and how this can shape healthy, empowered communities. She joined the Sustainability Ambassadors because she hopes to make sustainability feel less intimidating by showing people how they can incorporate sustainable practices into their daily lives.

Amelia is also an active member of CEP’s Outreach and Admissions committee, which focuses on campus-wide promotion of the major and runs the admissions process for new students. This role has allowed her to grow her confidence in communications production, public speaking, and event planning, and she hopes to continue this growth through her work with Sustainability Ambassadors.

In her free time, Amelia enjoys nannying, exploring outdoors (especially forests and beaches), and reading.
