Impact Volunteer Hours
Need volunteer or service learning hours for your classroom or club?
Make a meaningful, measurable impact to help advance your city’s sustainability goals by completing any of our Impact Projects, while also earning up to 5 service hours! Take advantage of this flexible, home-based service opportunity to help rapidly advance a sustainable future!
How To Get Hours
1. Visit the Impact Project Design page, read through the IP3 strategy, and locate a project that interests you.
2. Click “get the template,” make a copy, and begin adapting all the orange text to you and your city.
3. Start your impact! Follow the procedure, begin taking action and track your data.
4. Once you finish your Impact Project, begin reviewing the storytelling criteria below and decide on a storytelling project to spread your impact! Review examples of impact storytelling on the Impact Project Design page.
5. When you finish the storytelling piece, compile all documents (PDF of Impact Project and any storytelling materials) and submit everything in the link below. Remember to label all downloads as [First name Last Name - Project title]
Storytelling Criteria
1. Excellent production and execution. Evidence of both creativity and craftsmanship. Minimal stock footage, or watermarked photos, we want your real photos and videos!

Note: Your storytelling piece does not need to feature your face, if you are comfortable on camera you're more than welcome to include your likeness!
2. The story includes accurate impact data using the equations in our impact projects and/or these cool equivalencies. The impact data is related to one or more specific actions or needs stated in a city, county, or community sustainability policy, plan, or dashboard. Be specific about which action your project is actually advancing.
3. It is short and engaging, fun to experience, read, or view by other youth.
4. Infographics are beautifully composed and easy to follow.
5. Voice audio recordings are of consistent quality, clear, and plenty loud. Music can serve as an excellent narrative organizer or emotional amplifier. Avoid boring, generic “muzak” for elevators and shopping malls)
6. Videos can be portrait or landscape depending on your platform. Keep this consistent throughout the whole video.
7. IMPORTANT: Be sure to export video in the highest resolution possible, no lower than a minimum 720p.
Transit Bingo Hours
Play Transit Bingo for an opportunity to earn up to 20 hours! Turn in your photo, completed Bingo Board, and a Transit Bingo story about your experience to earn volunteer hours. See the criteria for your story above.
You can get 3 volunteer hours for your first Bingo! If you want to earn more you can complete additional Bingos for 1 more hour each.
Going for a BLACKOUT? Earn 6 bonus hours for getting a blackout on your board (every challenge completed). You can earn up to 20 hours total for a BLACKOUT.
