Locating Your SNOTEL Site

Rishi Hazra | Sustainability Ambassadors

SUMMARY: A quick tutorial on how to identify an individual's local SNOTEL Site- a site that records and transmits data regarding snow and water levels at a particular location. This data is later used by water managers to plan and manage water conservation throughout the year. Once the local SNOTEL Site can be determined, you can continue and generate reports illustrating certain elements of our water systems- more on this in future videos.

BIO: Rishi Hazra is a freshman at Skyline High School of the Issaquah School District in the class of 2023. He joined Sustainability Ambassadors in the fall of 2019 to contribute to his community’s sustainability. He is currently working on incorporating the Green Sports Alliance in his district. In school, Rishi is involved with Club Med, Math Club, and choir. He’s also Skyline’s ASB Secretary where he is focused on minimizing waste from posters by limiting funding for decor. To stay active, Rishi runs for his school’s Track and Cross-Country teams. When he’s stuck at home, he participates in a mini-marathon of sleeping, playing the piano, and singing- at his family’s expense. With a burning passion, Rishi hopes to be a biomedical research scientist for all purposes strictly sustainable.
