Vertical Farming

SUMMARY: Food shortages are common all over the world and is a growing problem that must be addressed. In today’s day and age, we need to think of new, innovative methods to grow our plants to combat the food crisis. This presentation talks about vertical farming as a viable, alternative option to current farming practices. Vertical farming could be an effective method to combat the food crisis as this presentation talks about certain case studies associated with vertical farming. In addition, the drawbacks and benefits of vertical farming are explained in this presentation.
BIO: Annika Kumar is a sophomore at Skyline High School in the Issaquah School District and is part of the graduating class of 2020. She is co-president of her Green Team at her school and loves to take part in environmental and sustainability – related events in her community. She is also part of the Sustainability Ambassadors and is empowered to make a difference in her community by promoting a more sustainable world for future generations. In her free time, she does Indian classical dance through an organization called From Within Academy and has been learning dance for nearly 10 years now. In addition, she loves to play the guitar and one of her favorite sports is basketball.
