About the Event
Open to secondary teachers in all subjects! Learn how to support your students in developing projects that have an actual, measurable impact in the community. You will gain tips, techniques, tools, and templates for integrating our IP3 Strategy across the curriculum. The three fundamentals of this elegant project management strategy include: (1) impact project design, (2) impact data gathering, and (3) impact storytelling, including how to engage authentically with experts, stakeholders, peers, parents, and policymakers. You will be able to study classroom models, see student work, and interact with passionate young leaders from Sustainability Ambassadors’ Youth Leadership Development Program. Student motivation for academic rigor increases when learning is locally relevant, problem-based, and valued by the community. Turns out, saving the planet, starting with the neighborhood, leading by example, and shouting out the stories of what’s working is pretty fun.
