About the Event
All teachers are welcome, but priority registration is for teachers from Bellevue, Seattle, Lake Washington, Issaquah, Northshore, Tukwila, Skyway/Renton, Tacoma, and University Place.
Explore a rich collection of curated, Spanish language resources for local / global learning around (1) Water Systems and (2) Transportation Systems. (We’re working on Energy, Zero Waste, and Food Systems!) In this Lab we will focus on science questions, engineering solutions, civic and personal actions. We will review pedagogical frameworks, tips, and templates for analyzing existing city, county, and school district sustainability plans to identify design challenges and impact projects that matter. With a foundation in local needs, we will build connections to world-leading, Spanish-speaking, cities within their own cultural, economic, political, and geographic context. The Lab will include top students from the Sustainability Ambassadors Leadership Development Program (who also speak Spanish) for a spirited, inter-generational learning environment.
