Expert Webinar Series - PART 3 GREEN DUWAMISH WATERSHED - Climate Change and Reservoir Capacity
5 STEM WWU Clock Hours (for all 3 Webinars) Grades 6-12 All Subjects Apply systems thinking to understand how local climate models are used on a daily basis to forecast how much water we need to manage for drinking, salmon, treaty rights, recreation, and flood control.

About the Event
Session 3 of a three-webinar series interacting with experts on the Green-Duwamish Watershed. Participants will work with climate forecasters to explore how crucial decisions are made among multiple partners, some with competing interests, to carefully manage how much water will get stored behind or spilled through our local cascade dams. With a shrinking snowpack and big changes coming in the seasonal patterns of our water cycle due to climate change, longer droughts, heat waves, and fires in the summer, and more rain and flood potential in the winter, how will we adapt? How can climate models help us forecast these changes and manage for multiple water stakeholders?
