About the Event
This is the Winter session of an ongoing PBL practicum for secondary teachers. All academic subjects are welcome!
The goal is to empower youth agency and belonging in helping implement a Climate Action Plan in your city with targets for reducing GHG emissions, advancing the green economy, and improving equity outcomes. We will use science to analyze local climate impacts, technology to explore smart city AI applications, data science and math to calculate GHG reductions, and engineering to identify solutions including clean energy, green buildings, electric transportation, materials management, and water systems innovations. We will explore climate justice, civics, economics to identify policy frameworks and market innovations for rapidly advancing a sustainable future that works for all.
Here is the central inquiry: How would our students engage if they knew they were part of building a classroom/city Climate Action Plan that aligns academic standards with climate solutions?
