About the Event
A special opportunity for 20 high school teachers from King County School Districts who are committed to integrating career-connected learning with teaching climate change and impact project design in context of our region's rapidly growing green economy. Each day of the Institute includes fascinating in-person site visits to a different sector of the green economy plus online work time and coaching in curriculum design focused on Green Jobs Youth Pathways, resource curation around localized phenomena, inquiry, and problem solving, and access to sector professionals. Centered in the relationship between climate justice, green jobs, and sustainable solutions, our topics will include Clean Energy, Food Systems, Green Building, Urban Planning, Sustainable Transportation, and Water Resource Management. Selected teachers receive a $500 stipend (in two installments) with a commitment to personalize and pilot learning pathways unique to your curriculum objectives during the 2024-25 school year. We welcome all CTE teachers, plus social studies, science, math, English, and arts educators. We make learning real, relevant, and local. If this is you, take some time to reflect on the questions in this form. We look forward to hearing from you. Submit your application by registering on here in our webpage.
