Samantha Lai

Samantha is a senior at the University of Washington pursuing a double major in Community, Environment, and Planning and Comparative History Of Ideas. She is also a part of the Interdisciplinary Honors Program. She is passionate about urban planning policy for sustainability, particularly regarding housing and transportation.

Outside of coursework, Samantha works as a campus tour guide, including virtual event planning through the platform ZeeMee. She also participated in the UW Dialogue Initiative as a Civic Dialogue Leader. Last fall, she founded Bartering Club at UW, a campus organization focused on building community around sustainability and reuse. Her work is supported by the Mary Gates Leadership Scholarship.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys exploring Seattle, thrifting, and arts and crafts.
