Neil Kumar

Neil Kumar, an 8th grader at Odle Middle School, is passionate about sustainability and using technology to make a real difference. His interest in environmental sustainability began when he learned about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and how it kills over 100,000 marine animals every year. That moment, along with other experiences, sparked his passion to help create a more sustainable world. As a member of the Bellevue School District Sustainability Committee (Sustainability Design Team) and the Odle Green Team, Neel is working to push for greener practices by promoting environmentally friendly processes. He strongly believes that technology is a powerful tool in the fight against climate change and is always thinking of new ways to reduce waste and promote sustainability. Currently, as a Sustainability Ambassador, he’s working with the Bellevue Team to encourage students to use eco-friendly transportation and help schools save energy. Through his efforts, Neel hopes to inspire others and make a lasting impact on his community and beyond.
