Spring 2025

Chloe is now a rising junior at Henry M. Jackson High School. In her free time, Chloe loves creating art, specifically watercolor and pen. She has earned several Gold Keys in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition and spends most of her time working on new projects and building her art portfolio. Her interest in sustainability began with her love for design and art, which eventually led to her interest in a career in architecture and urban planning. Through further research and involvement in ACE Mentorship—an architecture, construction, and engineering program—she realized that sustainability plays a big role in building infrastructure. With her passion for the creative world, her goal is to learn more about sustainable practices and systems to later implement in buildings throughout her future career. At school, Chloe is involved in leadership as the Class of 2027 president and loves collaborating to plan fun events and fundraisers. She is also the founder of Jackson Fitted, her school’s thrifting club. This year, the club’s goal is to launch clothing switch-up events that give clothes a second life, helping reduce water and carbon emissions while raising awareness about the impacts of fast fashion.

This is Chloe’s third year in ASB, and during her sophomore year’s homecoming, she realized how much plastic was being purchased for decorations and supplies—only to be thrown away at the end of the night. At first, it seemed like just a small, one-day issue, but she soon recognized that this cycle repeats every year across countless events. In response, Chloe is now creating a green purchasing guide for her school’s ASB to reduce single-use plastics and advocate for compostable and reusable materials. Through this initiative, her goal is not only to make school events more sustainable but also to inspire her peers and future ASB leaders and schools to consider the long-term effects of their decisions on the environment.
