Representing the City of

Bellevue

Sustainability Ambassador since

Winter 2024

Bill Tang is a passionate 8th Grade Student at Odle Middle School. He is the ASB President, Model United Nations (MUN) Club Founder, Green Team member, and National Junior Honor Society member. He was born in China and lived in Beijing for four years before his family immigrated to the USA in 2015. He recognized the pollution that taunted Beijing and his physical health, which greatly impacted his skin at a young age that even doctors couldn't cure. Through his years in China, elementary school, and middle school, he nurtured a passion for environmental sustainability. With motivation levels through the ceiling, he grew his leadership and speaking skills with Debate and MUN, where he knew he wanted to be heard and make an impact. He is interested in policy-making, and leadership, and was invested in education. He soon stepped up and became the ASB President in his current 8th Grade year, and actively participates in public speaking activities. His background allowed his introduction to Sustainability Ambassadors by his Social Studies teacher and has been addicted to sharpening his decision-making, education, and diplomatic experience since.

In the Bellevue School District, Bill Tang is currently working with other ambassadors to improve and motivate carbon emission reduction for commuting to school. He is also an advocate for solar energy and is considering a project to increase its usage.
