Valentina Duque Dougherty

Valentina Duque Dougherty is a sustainability educator holding dual degrees in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Practices. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, she moved to the United States six years ago and has since committed her work to advancing environmental literacy and providing accessible sustainability education.  Valentina creates bilingual educational content, producing Spanish-language resources. Her projects showcase practical examples of sustainability, such as an in-depth exploration of Medellín's innovative transportation systems. These initiatives aim to inspire students to consider global strategies for sustainable urban mobility. Additionally, she has developed a video guide to help users navigate the Sustainability Ambassadors website, enabling Spanish-speaking students and educators to easily access lesson templates and resources.  With a background in environmental education and community engagement, Valentina joined Sustainability Ambassadors to empower youth, support multilingual learning, and help create more sustainable and resilient communities. She is passionate about climate action, sustainable cities, and developing educational tools that connect students with practical environmental solutions.
