About the Event
In this Curriculum Design Lab, teachers in grades 6-12 practice the disciplines of STEAM, Social Studies, and Common Core to explore the systemic relationships between green jobs, climate science, climate solutions, and climate justice using the workforce development needs of local government and industry as a lesson planning framework. Participants will be immersed in a series of PBL lesson frameworks for empowering youth voice, agency and ownership. We explore science questions and engineering solutions, plus the application of technology and math to support student problem solving relevant to their own city. Each day of the Green Economy Institute includes a fascinating in-person site visit plus online collaboration, work time, and coaching in curriculum design.
