About the Event
Participants will be immersed in a series of PBL lesson frameworks as follows: (1) Classroom and Community Climate Action Planning, (2) Impact Project Design and Stakeholder Engagement, (3) Community Impact Mapping, and (4) Green Jobs Youth Pathways. The Lab convenes teachers, student leaders, and subject matter experts from industry, government, and nonprofit sectors to ensure a rich learning exchange. We will use science to analyze local climate impacts, technology to explore smart city AI applications, data science and math to calculate GHG emission reductions, and the engineering design process to identify local climate solutions. We will explore civics, economics, and human geography as a way to identify the strongest policy frameworks and market innovations for climate action and how to strengthen these to meet climate goals and address inequalities.
