Rivanaa Palkar

Rivanaa Palkar is an upcoming 8th grader at International School in the Bellevue School District. She joined the Sustainability Ambassadors because she believes that creating change should start with focusing more attention on our environment. In Sustainability Ambassadors, she has created a “Carbon Commute Count” video for International School explaining the importance of reducing carbon emissions.

She is the Co-Founder of a nonprofit organization in which she actively gathers flowers from wedding receptions and repurposes them to elderly care and hospice centers. Through this experience, she found a way to be more sustainable with flowers while also creating a positive impact to Seniors across King County.

Rivanaa also took part in robotics club at her school, serving for two years on the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team. She hopes to combine her passion for robotics and sustainability by creating innovative solutions that can help protect the environment and create positive impacts in the future. 

Rivanaa is also a part of Troop 695 scouts where she engages in leadership, service projects, and community activities. Through scouts she has learned the importance of serving her community while working with others. Rivanaa looks forward to more sustainable activities and opportunities to gain experience in the future.
