Raghav Chaturvedi

Class of
2028
Representing the City of
Bellevue
Sustainability Ambassador since
Summer 2023
Raghav Chaturvedi (He/Him) is an 11th Grader, part of the Class of 2028 at International School, representing the city of Bellevue. He enjoys playing pickleball and chess and frequently goes for runs in his local area. Raghav is extremely enthusiastic about sports, as he can be seen watching football, soccer, and even tennis. His journey with Sustainability Ambassadors began in the winter of 2023, upon learning about its exceptional training and community impact from a school member. Since then, he has been involved with his city council, by speaking at several city events, such as the Bellevue Budget Hearing, the Candidates Environmental Forum, and the A4LE Conference for Sustainable Architecture. As for his school, he has implemented different campaigns, like Turn Off the Lights Day and Carbon Commute Count. These both aimed to identify and lower his school’s energy usage and carbon emissions. He also contributes in his own household, as he has a personal carbon footprint of 10 metric tons per year, and a water footprint of 1,233 gallons per day. Although these numbers are roughly 35% less than the US average, they show room for improvement. Lastly, Raghav hopes to be able to engineer sustainable alternatives to current high-carbon materials like cement. Joining hands with Sustainability Ambassadors, he hopes to create a greener environment, and inspire others to follow suit.
