Klara Johnson

Class of
2028
Representing the City of
Seattle
Sustainability Ambassador since
Spring 2026
Klara is currently a high school junior with an interest in service, sustainability, and STEM. Coming from an all-girls high school, she is especially passionate about empowering girls in STEM and teaching others about sustainability. Growing up in Seattle, she has always deeply appreciated the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and has spent countless weekends camping throughout the Olympics, the San Juan Islands, the Kitsap Peninsula, Central Washington, and beyond. From camping and hiking with her family to spending time on the water, these experiences have given her a deep appreciation for the outdoors and inspired her passion for sustainability. She hopes to inspire younger generations to take part in sustainability efforts.
Outside of school, she plays varsity tennis and is a part of the SSP sailing race team. She is also the head of her school’s photography club and serves as a Growth Director for WATT, a nonprofit focused on empowering younger girls through coding. In her free time she loves doing creative activities like sewing/crochet and enjoys spending time with friends.
She is very excited to be a part of Sustainability Ambassadors and looks forward to learning from her peers, growing her understanding of what sustainability can look like in different communities, and contributing to efforts that help protect the environment for future generations.
