Representing the City of
Sustainability Ambassador since
Kaylee Meyers is a student at Edmonds Woodway High School in the class of 2023. She joined the Sustainability Ambassadors team in the summer of 2020 to challenge her community toward a brighter and more sustainable future. Kaylee participates in a wide variety of clubs, sports, and programs that help build her character and create strong leadership attributes. These include girl’s tennis and swim, ASB, Compassion 2020, Students Saving Salmon, and Seattle Girls Choir. These activities have all led Kaylee to be a more responsible, compassionate, and organized leader. Kaylee is an avid learner hoping to apply her skills and explore new opportunities to acquire powerful and robust experiences that will empower others to do the same.
Because she has been provided so much by her family and community, she hopes to pursue a career that will allow her to give back. Her goal in Sustainability Ambassadors is to increase student participation in overall sustainability and to highlight the significance of our actions today. Kaylee intends to execute her plan first, through the sustainability club in her own school with aspirations to lead her district into facilitating assemblies revolved around student/teacher environmental awareness.
Kaylee uses 1,423 gallons of water every day.
Kaylee’s carbon footprint is 17 tons of CO2 per year.
To reduce her footprint, Kaylee has been taking shorter showers and turning the faucet off when it is not being used. Moreover, she has been taking public transportation and carpooling whenever possible. She encourages her family and friends to reduce their footprint as well by reusing and recycling as much as possible.
