Vedant Srinivas

Class of
2024
Representing the City of
Sammamish
Sustainability Ambassador since
Spring 2022
Vedant Srinivas (Class of 2024) is a senior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish. He has spent the last two years developing technology for roadkill prevention and more recently aimed to make semitrucks more aerodynamic and efficient through biomimicry of a boxfish (check it out in the passion projects section of our website). Vedant joined sustainability ambassadors because he firmly believes that technology is key to advancing sustainability, but it needs to be paired with policy and outreach to be effective. As an ambassador he is interested in exploring the concept of smaller scale climate action plans at a personal, school, and district level, to pave the way for large scale policies to promote sustainability. Vedant has a carbon footprint of 59 tons per year and a water footprint of 1,505 gallons per day, and is working to reduce them by taking shorter showers (very difficult) and using more public transportation.
