Xinyuan Duan

I like pretty much all STEM subjects, but my favorite is programming/computer science. I also love playing Go and I've been playing it since the age of 5. I like solving puzzles and playing board games (Rubik's cubes!); I founded the puzzles club when I was in middle school. I'm currently on my school's robotics team and environmental club. During my free time, I like to read books and play video games. I can speak English and Chinese, and I'm currently taking Spanish too. In the future, I wish to study computer science and data science, and explore how we can solve difficult problems with the help of AI, such as environmental problems. I joined Sustainability Ambassadors because I feel the need to do something about the ongoing environmental issues. I want to put my best effort into making impacts in our communities and promoting a sustainable future. I believe it is not too late to start making progress towards the 2050 goal if everyone becomes aware of the actions that we must take. Being a Sustainability Ambassador, I will start by taking actions myself to reduce the carbon and water footprint in my family.
