Representing the City of

Sustainability Ambassador since

Spring 2019

Shivani Gupta is a 7th grader at Pacific Cascade Middle School in the Issaquah School District. Shivani joined Sustainability Ambassadors in the spring of 2019. Although she has not been with the Ambassadors for long, she has learned so much, not only about life skills but about who she is as a person. Throughout her journey she has gotten to explore many areas of leadership and grow while doing so. Her main project focus is creating a model Earth Day Assembly to implement into other school districts. Doing this she hopes to show other youth how a simple change can make a difference. Shivani has many interests for potential careers but hopes to go into the medical field, and use her skills as a Sustainability Ambassador to guide her through leadership opputunities. Her personal carbon footprint is 68 tons of CO2 a year. To reduce this she is walking or biking the small distances that she usually takes a car for. Shivani’s personal water footprint is 1505 gallons a day and she is doing the simple behavior changes to reduce this. This includes shorter showers, turning off the faucets when not needed and checking for leaks in her house more regularly.
