Representing the City of
Sustainability Ambassador since
Prachi Chetlur is 11 years old and a sixth-grader at Issaquah Middle School. She was inspired to join Sustainability Ambassadors after attending the 2050 work out at UW with her friends. She aspires to become a lawyer or a professional swimmer after she graduates. Her project focus right now is trying to bring paper that is not made from trees into schools and to reduce the amount of paper that her district uses. The impact she wants to see in the end is a paper-free classroom. Her personal carbon footprint is 17 tons of carbon- dioxide per year. To reduce this, she is trying to use public transit more often when possible. Her personal water footprint is 1961 gallons per day. To reduce this, she is working on not letting the faucet drip when she is washing something or brushing her teeth. When she is not at a swim meet or at practice, Prachi can be found curled up with a good book, singing, or playing the violin.
