Representing the City of

Bellevue

Sustainability Ambassador since

Summer 2016

Nazli Dakad is a Senior at Bellevue High School in the Bellevue School District. Nazli is a self-starter and has always strived to be an active member of her community. Nazli has been a Sustainability Ambassador for almost 4 years and her experience has shaped much of her current skill-set as a leader and initiative-taker. She enjoys working with a team of like-minded individuals to further community sustainability, a topic she views as neglected by many of her peers. Nazli is the Project Coordinator for a team of other Ambassadors working in partnership with Sphere Solar Energy on our neighbor-to neighbor campaign building the moral, technical and financial case for adding solar panels to homes. For every 30 homes that go solar, Sphere Solar Energy will donate a solar project to a community in the developing world. Nazli plays basketball for her high school team and also runs cross country. In addition to sports, she is the president of her school’s Earthbound Club, French Honor Society, and Link Crew. She also serves on Bellevue Youth Link's Youth Board to strengthen the presence of Fall Kick-Offs - Project Design Trainings, Spring Community Sustainability Summits, and the Town Hall @ School Sustainable City Planning Civics Unit. Nazli will be attending Yale University next year and majoring in Environmental Studies. Nazli’s hobbies include reading, doing yoga, drinking bubble tea, and running.
