2027

Representing the City of

Bothell

Sustainability Ambassador since

Fall 2020

Katelyn, who is a member of the class of 2027 in the Northshore School District, joined Sustainability when she was only a 6th grader. Climate change and sustainability has been a big part of her life after she realized the importance of preserving our environment. Other than learning more about climate change and taking action against it, she enjoys going on hikes with her dog, learning new things in and out of school, listening to music, hanging out with her friends, and cooking. Katelyn became interested in the program in the summer of 2020, but was not able to fully participate until the fall of that year. One of her greatest accomplishments is creating her own student-run green team at her middle school. Katelyn’s interest in climate action grew exponentially after she joined the Sustainability Ambassadors, and will only continue to grow.

My impact project is about saving energy. Since the majority of our energy comes from sources that pollute the Earth, and switching to an entirely new source of energy would be a very long and complicated process, my goal is to cut down on how much energy I use throughout the day.
