Cycle | Support | Celebrate

May is National Bike Month, a time for people of all ages across the country to engage in active transportation through bicycling. In addition to being enjoyable, bicycling can lead to lifelong healthy habits. The best way to celebrate is simply to get on a bike: ride to work, ride to the grocery storeride to school or just ride for the sheer joy of being outside soaking up the spring weather!

Bike to School

During Bike to School month, and throughout the year, we encourage all students to begin their school day with a safe and active commute, helping them arrive to school ready to learn! Can’t ride all month long? Celebrate on Bike to School Day, Wednesday, May 9th, 2018!

Cascade Bicycle Club hosts friendly statewide Bike to School competitions for elementary, middle, and high school students. Students track their bike riding during May to earn cool prizes and promote active transportation in their communities.

Why Bike to School?

Biking helps us feel energized, engage with our neighbors and reduce our carbon footprint. Not only does biking to school help foster lifelong healthy habits, but it can also encourage active transportation in the early-life stage. Starting the school day with a bike ride, walk or roll will ensure that kids are awake and ready to learn! Learn more and get involved.

Bike Everywhere

During this month-long celebration of pedal-powered movement, try a challenge like the Washington Bikes Bike Everywhere Challenge, an online trip-tracking contest May 1-31, and join in on F5 Bike Everywhere Day, a curb side celebration all throughout the region on May 18, brought to you by Cascade. Events are statewide and vary in activity content through corporate and community events aimed at encouraging people to bike more, or even for the very first time. Learn more and get involved.

Lets ride!
